The evolution of Windows so far

There has recently been a lot of talk about the upcoming release of Windows 8.  Many people are concerned that the changes being made are far too radical, such as the replacement of the Start Menu with new tile system, Metro.  Also, the additional inclusion of more of the much-loathed “ribbons” has been the cause of great woe.  The previews available have gotten mixed reviews, but this is not the first time Windows has undergone some sweeping modifications.  Below is a link to a Microsoft blog post that outlines the fascinating evolution of Windows and explains their aim in creating the new Windows 8 experience.
