Fresh Start Package Information and Pricing

A Fresh Start is defined as the process of restoring a computer's hard drive back to the way it was when it was shipped from the factory. Before we begin, we backup the entire hard drive to ensure that we don't lose any data and then erase the hard disk completely. We then reinstall Windows from the factory disks, and install other software and peripheral devices that are needed (printers, scanners, iPods, etc). This process is used in various situations such as to clean certain virus infections, to repair damaged Windows installations when other repair attempts have failed, or when a customer just wants to 'reset' their slow running PC and have a 'Fresh Start'.

PACKAGE PRICING

There are two Fresh Start packages that we offer, 'Basic' and 'Full Service'.

The 'Basic' package is geared towards those clients who are comfortable installing software and peripheral devices, but may not be comfortable formatting the hard drive and installing and configuring an operating system.

The 'Full Service' package is a complete solution, and also our best value. The 'Full Service' package takes the hassle out of a complete system rebuild. When we are done, all you have to do is sit down and start using your computer. We take care of everything.

Because of the amount of time it takes to complete a Fresh Start it cannot be completed on-site. Each Fresh Start package includes return delivery of the computer, basic setup, and basic functionality testing. We will plug in the monitor, mouse, keyboard, Ethernet, phone line, and speakers (as applicable). We will demonstrate that the computer successfully boots into Windows and all basic functionality is working properly.

'Fresh Start' Basic Package

• Erase existing operating system.
• Install Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista.
  You MUST have the original application CDs (and valid CD key if the software that requires product activation). We cannot install any software from non-authentic CDs (e.g. no CD-R's or homemade copies of XP).

Driver Installation

• Install factory drivers (motherboard, video card, sound card, modem, etc). Does not include external devices.
• If customer doesn't have the driver disks for their computer we can get them from the Internet.

'Fresh Start' Full Service Package

Includes everything that comes with the Basic Package, plus:

Application Installation

• We will install all of your applications - excludes some games that can take hours to install. We'll show you how to do the installation yourself though, it's easy!
• We can install virtually any software program (Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Norton Antivirus, Quicken, ITunes, etc).
  You MUST have the original application CDs (and valid CD key if the software that requires product activation). We cannot install any software from non-authentic CDs (e.g. no CD-R's or homemade copies of XP).

Peripheral Setup

• Setup and install software for your peripheral devices (printer, scanner, all-in-one unit, camera, palm pilot, iPod, etc).

Network Setup

• Setup computer on home network (join an existing wireless network, enable file/printer sharing)
• Install network printer and connect to a single machine (if applicable).

Application and Security Update Installation

• Ensure all Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Microsoft Office, anti-virus, and other application updates are installed.
• Configure computer for automatic updating wherever possible.

Data Backup and Restoration

• We backup your important data before we rebuild the computer. Things like your 'My Documents' folder, QuickBooks or Quicken files, Turbo Tax files, email, address book, favorite websites, etc. After the rebuild is complete, we will put all this information back on your computer, right where you left it. Not applicable for systems where the hard drive is inoperable - data recovery service is available for an additional charge. Call us for details.
